My reaction on Michael's hidden Life
The letter is all about someone who's hiding from a shell and wanted to show who he really are. He wants to express his self without people judging him but sadly, his in a community or world that is very judgmental. He also wanted or wish for something that everybody is wishing for. He wished that someday our world will have acceptance and hoping that people would not doubt his gender.
Reading his letter, I felt a two emotions. At first I felt that sadness, because I know the feeling of being judged and I know the feeling of being scared to show the true you. I know that it is not easy to show to people your true self because your afraid to be judge and hear those hurtful words. I also know the feeling of being not accepted, It is truly not easy. That feeling when you just wanted to be true to yourself but people wont allow you or wont accept you. At some point of the letter, I also feel happy, because he able to express and show his self through a letter. I expressed his true self and hoping his parents or family would accept him. I'm also happy because he found a place where he can say that it is his home and his confident to show who he truly is. Some places in our world will never accept the LGBTQ community. We cannot force them to accept but we hope that there will be at least respect for them. Yes, we have the right to speak on whats our in sights about them, but we should also think that they have feelings and they can be hurt. Us discriminating them doesn't help our community peaceful, we are making our community or world more chaotic. Us also being judgmental can make a person depressed and worse scenario it can lead them to death. We should always know first what are we going to say to people who's part of the LGBTQ community.
Me being has an experience of that I just wanted to tell him that his not only the one who's .experiencing that kind of situation. I will encourage him to just be his self and I will also tell him that there is nothing wrong about showing whats your gender, the important thing is he did not hurt someone's feelings and have that respect to everybody. I also wanted to address to him that someday there will be light that will let our world accept those people like you.
